My journey as an Raring2go! editor started when my youngest started school. To be home alone for the first time in 6 years and starting a brand new experience of work was a challenge for me. The ease of working around my family at a pace set by myself certainly made life easier. To have a great network of other editors and the back up from head office with support and training, made the transition of a Stay at home mum to a working mum much smoother.

As well as the challenges of starting a new business, the flexibility of being there for my girls and their needs for school life, accompanying them on school trips, attending sports day, watching their shows, plus our home life certainly took the pressure off along with any mum guilt! I am now in my 14th year and honestly the time has flown! My girls are adults now, one finishing college and one working, both driving which of course brings other worries than when they were at primary school! The magazine is going from strength to strength, many friendships have formed over the years with my advertisers and whilst I am still home alone Raring2go! continues to provide a great work-life balance for me.
